It\u2019s a consistent, reliable, and hope-inducing relationship that puts them at the centre and provides access to a safety net of resources\u2014like housing support,\u00a0 financial assistance in times of crisis or to achieve their goals, access to education, training, employment opportunities, while supporting their transition into adulthood. Coaches also connect with the young person\u2019s family, culture, and community.<\/p><p>When the young person is ready, Coaches play a key role in helping them strengthen their ties to Culture, Country, and Community in a way that feels right for them.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-9056c23 elementor-blockquote--skin-quotation elementor-blockquote--align-right elementor-blockquote--button-color-official elementor-widget elementor-widget-blockquote\" data-id=\"9056c23\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"blockquote.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<blockquote class=\"elementor-blockquote\">\n\t\t\t<p class=\"elementor-blockquote__content\">\n\t\t\t\tFor us, we really want to emphasize making those connections to the young person\u2019s community. Through our transition coach and our cultural practice lead, we\u2019re linking these young fullas back up with their community or maybe meeting their family for the first time, where they may have never had that. Knowing they had links to a certain family group or language group, it\u2019s incredibly impactful. This work not only gives them a sense of belonging but also helps them understand their identity and place in the community, which is vital for their journey into adulthood.\n\n\nOur transition coach plays a critical role in ensuring young people are supported throughout their journey into independence. It\u2019s not about rushing the process but about building their capacity step by step. Having more Aboriginal staff in our team would mean so much to the young people. They see someone Staff that are Mob and think, I can be that. It\u2019s about providing role models who can inspire and guide them. Non-Aboriginal staff also have a role to play. It\u2019s about building trust, showing consistency, and being genuine.
